Arctic Seal

Product Type

Arctic Seal is a unique colloid milled blend of polymerized asphalt, minerals, fiber, and proprietary reflective medium technology. This environmentally friendly coating lowers the service temperature by up to 40%, increases reflectivity, and provides a cooler surface. It is ideal for areas where extreme temperatures create hazards, such as schools, playgrounds, office complexes, and low-volume roads.

Description

ARCTIC SEAL is formulated as a groundbreaking cool coating designed to combat high temperatures in various environments. Its unique blend of polymerized asphalt, minerals, fiber, and proprietary reflective medium technology sets it apart as an innovative solution for surfaces exposed to extreme heat. The colloid milling process ensures a uniform mixture that provides not only a protective barrier but also a cooling effect, making it a sustainable and energy-efficient choice.

Surface Preparation

Prepare the surface by thoroughly cleaning it, removing loose materials, dirt, and debris. For sealed surfaces, ensure the seal is in good condition. Smooth excessively rough surfaces and apply primer (SSH1 mixed with two parts water) at a rate of 1 gallon per square foot on aged surfaces. Repair any cracks or imperfections with suitable materials. Create a clean, smooth substrate to facilitate optimal adhesion and penetration of ARCTIC SEAL. Consult with your Project Manager or project requirements for specific surface preparation steps based on pavement condition. A well-prepared surface ensures the effective application of ARCTIC SEAL, maximizing its cooling and reflective benefits.

Important

ARCTIC SEAL boasts a maximum drying time of 8 hours at 70°F and 50% relative humidity, allowing for efficient application and quicker return to service.

Application

  1. Ensure the area is clean and free from loose material and dirt.

  2. Apply using Spray, Squeegee, or Mechanical Equipment.

  3. Keep the surface damp while applying with a fog system.

  4. Product may be diluted with a maximum of 20% water.

  5. Priming may be necessary on aged surfaces using SSH1 and 2 parts water, applied at 1 gal per sq/ft.

  6. Do not over dilute ARCTIC SEAL. Consult your Project Manager if needed.

Mixing Procedures

When preparing ARCTIC SEAL for application, follow these mixing procedures for optimal results. Begin by ensuring the product is well-stirred before use. If the need for dilution arises, ARCTIC SEAL can be mixed with a maximum of 20% water. Exercise caution not to over-dilute the product, as this may impact its performance.

For specific projects or unique requirements, consult with your Project Manager to determine the appropriate mixing ratios tailored to the conditions of the surface and the desired application thickness.

Maintaining precise mixing procedures guarantees a uniform application, allowing ARCTIC SEAL to deliver its cooling and reflective benefits effectively.
